Flora & Fauna

The monastery has an extremely rich natural diversity. Over the years different monks have identified on the property over 100 species of trees, 300 plus species of wildflowers, 200 plus different birds, 89 species of Butterflies and 52 different species of Dragonflies. This, along with a wonderful diversity of habitats and a top rate collection of American Indian artifacts, really makes this a treasured place to be nurtured, protected, and shared with the public in appropriate ways that still maintain our solitude.
